How it Went
I just completed my ceremony. I hope you were as blessed as I was to have had perfect weather (I know some of you had more water than you would have liked with the rain). But that rain is all part of the cycle, right?I felt so honored to be a part of this ceremony. So many beautiful souls coming together to say to the water, "We're sorry" and to restore her through their healing words and thoughts!
Please write to me at HealTheWaters@aol.com and let me know how your ceremonies went. Send pictures, too! I'll be sure to post them here. When you write, please indicate to me whether it would be okay to quote you and post it on this website. Thanks for your support of Heal The Waters and your love and support of this sacred resource which is so much a part of us! Blessings and peace! - Kate Trnka, Kimberly, WI
Other ceremonies were held in the U.S. (California, New Jersey, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin) and in Tasmania, Australia, Mexico, Canada, and Belgium. I'd love to hear from you to post your experiences!
At a "Bringing in the May" ceremony yesterday, the waters of the
Sangamon River were blessed by local participants who were asked to align with their personal Divine, and then to bless the representative waters from the Sangamon. This was then added to the waters of the Sangamon as a homeopathic adjustment for the healing of the waters. -Wendy Allen, Springfield, Illinois
I did the Water Ceremony by my own two ponds, offering them each a crystal and some special water I had received along with my intentions that the waters connect with all the world's waters to purify and bless each one. I sang my blessing song given to me by a sacred waterfall years ago and sat in the beaufiful evening light enjoying the peace and greenness of my place. Carol Bridges, Nashville, Indiana
The Sisterhood of Planetary Water Rites stood at the shore of our Beauftiful Blessed Pacific Mother Ocean...we sang the songs and made our commitments through the most beautiful of ceremonies....Blessed Waters Return to the Source - Grandmother T. Whitedeer
We held our ceremony on May 1 at sundown. Although it had been raining in the afternoon, there wasn’t any rain during our ceremony. On the contrary, it was sunny and there was no wind.
A group of 26 people gathered (many more had expressed the wish to attend but couldn’t make it). It was a wonderful group of people and we had a wonderful ceremony. I returned to the same spot one week later and you could still feel the energy.
Practically everyone asked me to organize a ceremony next year.
I noticed on the website that we were the only group in Europe. I’ll definitely try to convince people to hold ceremonies in other locations next year.
The recent events in the Gulf of Mexico sadly demonstrate the need for ceremonies of this kind.
I honestly feel very grateful that we were able to hold this ceremony and do something for the waters and for Mother Earth.
Blessings to you,
In munay (=pure, unconditional love)

Just a note from members of Keys to Peace (see keystopeace.org) here in the Florida Keys. We held a celebration on May 1 on the beach with crystal bowls, prayers, meditation, and song to pray for and bless the water. We are All the keys to peace and honor your willingness and inspiration to spread the word. We're doing our part too. Sorry we didn't think about taking pictures. Keep up the good work and may God bless you abundantly. We thank you. Mari-Etta
How It Started
Two events caused me to begin thinking about this Heal The Waters Ceremony:
First, I was struck by some amazing research being conducted by Dr. Masaru Emoto. He began photographing the molecular structure of water in its frozen state. After photographing the molecular structure of water when it was exposed to different types of music and seeing the difference in the structure of polluted water vs. other types of water, he wanted to take his research further. He believed that words and intentions could affect the molecular structure of water. His photos are amazing! Be sure to check his work out on the web (Dr. Emoto's work) , or better yet—pick up a copy of his book, “The Hidden Messages in Water”. He has other books now, too—including, “True Power of Water” and “The Shape of Love”.
The second event came when I wanted to take my dog for a swim and was not able to find a body of water in the local area that seemed clean enough to allow her to safely swim in the water.
These two ideas came together causing me to want to develop some type of ceremony to “heal” our waters—cleanse them—and then to create a global awareness around the health of our bodies of water.
However, it wasn't until the third piece of the puzzle came into play that I finally decided it was time to take action. It happened at a Gathering of Women at "Wild Grace" when my friend, Anne, expressed her sadness regarding Lake Erie. Each woman in our group began to express her concern over various bodies of water throughout the places where she resides. In talking about this concern with them, I also discovered that some of the women in our group have already made efforts to improve the waters in their various regions. This time we want to take our idea to the world and help the Earth and its waters.
And, so it is that we have begun the process of getting the word out about the Heal the Waters Ceremony. We encourage you to participate in your local area (or in any area of the world) you feel drawn to.
Knowing that water is what keeps everyone and, in effect, everything alive, it behooves us to care for it, nurture it, respect it, and honor it. Our first step in this process it to heal it. And this is the reason for this ceremony.
